A festive, crunchy, and sweet snack mix featuring crispy rice cereal, pretzels, marshmallows, white chocolate, and colorful candies—perfect for St. Patrick’s Day parties, gifting, or family movie nights. Quick to make and endlessly customizable for allergies or preferences.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups crispy rice cereal (Rice Chex or Rice Krispies)
  • 2 cups mini pretzel twists or sticks
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup green candy-coated chocolates (such as green M&Ms)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate-coated candies or rainbow sprinkles (such as Sixlets)
  • 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips or melting wafers
  • 2 tablespoons butter (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons green sprinkles or shamrock confetti
  • Pinch of sea salt flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Measure out all ingredients.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine crispy rice cereal, mini pretzels, mini marshmallows, green candy-coated chocolates, and chocolate-coated candies or sprinkles. Gently toss to mix.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine white chocolate chips and butter (if using). Microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring after each, until smooth and melted (about 1–1.5 minutes). Alternatively, melt using a double boiler.
  4. Pour melted chocolate over the cereal mixture. Use a spatula to gently fold until everything is evenly coated.
  5. Spread the coated mix onto the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. While chocolate is wet, scatter green sprinkles or shamrock confetti and sea salt flakes (if using) on top.
  6. Let the snack mix cool and set at room temperature for about 10 minutes, or refrigerate for 5 minutes if needed. Once set, break into bite-size clusters.
  7. Transfer to mason jars, treat bags, or an airtight container for serving or storage. Store leftovers at room temperature for up to one week.

Notes

Use gluten-free cereal and pretzels for a gluten-free version. For dairy-free, substitute coconut oil for butter and use dairy-free white chips. Customize mix-ins with seasonal candies or add-ins like freeze-dried fruit or nuts (if allergies allow). Work quickly when coating with chocolate for best texture. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for up to a month.
