  • 1015 drops green food coloring

  • 4 tablespoons (56g) melted butter, plus extra for greasing and topping
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • Optional: pinch of garlic powder or herbs for savory honey butter twist

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease your loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray to prevent sticking.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together 3 cups (360g) all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon baking powder, 2 tablespoons sugar, 1 teaspoon salt, and the green food coloring drops until the color is evenly distributed.
  3. Pour in 12 fl oz (355 ml) beer and 4 tablespoons (56g) melted butter. Stir gently with a wooden spoon or spatula until just combined; the batter will be slightly lumpy.
  4. Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes. Check doneness by inserting a toothpick in the center; it should come out clean or with a few moist crumbs. Tent with foil if the top browns too fast.
  6. While the bread bakes, mix 2 tablespoons honey with 2 tablespoons softened butter. Add a pinch of garlic powder or herbs if desired.
  7. Brush the hot bread with the honey butter mixture generously.
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
