A quick and easy tropical punch combining light and dark rum with fresh citrus and passion fruit juices, balanced with grenadine and bitters for a vibrant party drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) light rum (e.g., Bacardi)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) dark rum (e.g., Myers’s)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) passion fruit juice (bottled or fresh)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) fresh orange juice
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) grenadine syrup (e.g., Rose’s)
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) simple syrup (optional)
  • 4 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Ice (plenty)
  • Fresh fruit garnishes (optional: orange slices, maraschino cherries, pineapple chunks)

Instructions

  1. Juice the citrus: squeeze fresh orange and lime juice into a bowl or directly into your pitcher (about 1 cup orange juice and 1/2 cup lime juice).
  2. Combine the rums: pour 1 cup light rum and 1 cup dark rum into a large pitcher or punch bowl.
  3. Add the fruit juices: pour in 1 cup passion fruit juice along with the freshly squeezed orange and lime juices.
  4. Sweeten the mix: stir in 1/4 cup grenadine syrup and 1/4 cup simple syrup if desired; adjust sweetness to taste.
  5. Add bitters: drop in 4 dashes of Angostura bitters.
  6. Mix thoroughly: stir the punch well until all ingredients are fully blended and the color is a rich reddish-orange.
  7. Chill and serve: add plenty of ice to the pitcher or serve over ice in individual glasses; garnish with fresh fruit if desired.

Notes

Use fresh citrus juice for best flavor. Add grenadine last for the signature color. Keep ice separate until serving to avoid dilution. Adjust sweetness with simple syrup or pineapple juice. For a lighter version, reduce rum and add sparkling water or ginger ale. Garnish with fresh fruit for presentation.
