A quick and easy bagel board featuring smoky salmon, creamy cream cheese, and fresh toppings, perfect for effortless entertaining and customizable to suit various dietary needs.

Ingredients

  • Bagels: plain, everything, or your favorite variety
  • Smoked salmon: thinly sliced, preferably wild-caught
  • Cream cheese: full-fat, softened
  • Red onion: thinly sliced
  • Capers: rinsed
  • Fresh dill: chopped
  • Lemon wedges
  • Cucumber: thinly sliced (optional)
  • Cherry or grape tomatoes: halved
  • Optional extras: sliced avocado, extra virgin olive oil, everything bagel seasoning

Instructions

  1. Prepare the toppings: rinse and pat dry smoked salmon slices, thinly slice red onion and cucumber, halve cherry tomatoes, chop fresh dill, rinse capers, and set aside lemon wedges.
  2. Slice the bagels horizontally into halves using a sharp knife. Toast lightly if desired, keeping them warm but soft.
  3. Spread softened cream cheese generously on each bagel half using a spreading knife.
  4. Arrange bagel halves on a large serving board. Place smoked salmon slices nearby, then add small piles or bowls of onions, capers, cucumbers, tomatoes, and dill. Add lemon wedges around the edges.
  5. Add optional ingredients like avocado slices or a drizzle of olive oil just before serving.

Notes

Use fresh, thinly sliced smoked salmon and softened cream cheese for best texture and flavor. Rinse capers to reduce saltiness. Toast bagels lightly to prevent sogginess. Assemble just before serving for freshness. Dairy-free and gluten-free substitutions available.
