Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (240 ml) marinara or pizza sauce
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) sour cream
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 cup (100 g) shredded mozzarella
  • 1/2 cup (50 g) shredded sharp cheddar
  • 1/2 cup (50 g) grated Parmesan
  • 1 package (13.8 oz / 390 g) refrigerated pizza dough
  • 2 tbsp (30 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (for breadsticks)
  • 1 tbsp (15 g) grated Parmesan (optional, for breadsticks)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, marinara sauce, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper flakes if using. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  3. Fold in shredded mozzarella, sharp cheddar, and grated Parmesan until thick but spreadable. Add a tablespoon of sour cream or marinara sauce if too stiff.
  4. Spread the cheesy mixture evenly in an oven-safe baking dish.
  5. Roll out pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into strips about 1 inch wide and 6 inches long.
  6. Place strips on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush with melted butter, sprinkle garlic powder and grated Parmesan evenly over the top.
  7. Bake the dip and breadsticks together for 20-25 minutes until the dip is bubbly and golden and breadsticks are crisp and lightly browned.
  8. Remove from oven, sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over breadsticks, and let the dip cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use fresh-shredded cheese for better melting. Soften cream cheese and sour cream before mixing to avoid lumps. For extra crispy breadsticks, broil for 1-2 minutes after baking. If oven space is limited, bake dip first then breadsticks. Customize seasoning with fresh garlic or smoked paprika. For dairy-free or gluten-free versions, use appropriate substitutes.
