Crisp apple slices fanned out like nachos, drizzled with warm peanut butter and topped with chocolate chips, nuts, and coconut. A quick, wholesome snack that feels like a treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large apple (Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Gala)
  • 3 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil or butter
  • 2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons chopped nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pecans)
  • 1 tablespoon shredded coconut (unsweetened or sweetened)
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • Optional: dried cranberries, chia seeds, hemp hearts, or melted dark chocolate

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the apple. Core it and slice into thin rounds, about 1/4 inch thick (aim for 10-12 slices).
  2. Fan the apple slices out on a plate in a single layer, overlapping slightly if needed.
  3. In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine peanut butter, honey (or maple syrup), and coconut oil (or butter). Microwave in 15-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and pourable (about 30-45 seconds total). If too thick, add a teaspoon of warm water or milk and stir.
  4. Drizzle the warm peanut butter mixture over the apple slices in a zigzag pattern, coating each slice lightly.
  5. Sprinkle mini chocolate chips, chopped nuts, shredded coconut, and a pinch of sea salt evenly over the drizzled apples. Add any optional toppings now.
  6. Serve immediately while apples are crisp and drizzle is warm. Best eaten within 10 minutes.

Notes

Best eaten immediately. Apples will brown and soften if left too long. To prep ahead, slice apples and store in lemon water; keep drizzle and toppings separate until serving. For a warm version, bake at 350°F for 2-3 minutes after drizzling.
