These no-bake peanut butter energy balls are quick, simple, and perfect for grab-and-go school snacks. Made with wholesome ingredients, they provide a balanced mix of sweetness, protein, and fiber.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (250 g) natural peanut butter (creamy or chunky, unsweetened preferred)
  • 1/3 cup (113 g) honey
  • 1 1/2 cups (135 g) old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup (60 g) mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons (14 g) ground flaxseed (optional but recommended)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of natural peanut butter and 1/3 cup of honey. Stir until smooth and well combined, about 2 minutes.
  2. Add 1 1/2 cups of old-fashioned rolled oats and fold gently until all oats are coated and mixture thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Stir in 2 tablespoons of ground flaxseed if using, until evenly distributed.
  4. Fold in 1/3 cup of mini semi-sweet chocolate chips gently to avoid melting.
  5. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes to firm up the mixture.
  6. Scoop about 1 tablespoon of mixture at a time and roll into tight balls between your palms, making about 20-22 balls. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet or plate.
  7. Refrigerate the energy balls for another 30 minutes to set completely before serving.

Notes

If mixture is too sticky to roll, add 1-2 tablespoons more oats or chill longer. If too dry, add a bit more honey or peanut butter. Use a small cookie scoop or tablespoon for uniform size. Keep hands slightly damp or dusted with oats when rolling to prevent sticking. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 3 months.
