These easy mini ham and cheese sliders are ready in 20 minutes and perfect for lunchboxes. Made with simple ingredients like Hawaiian rolls, deli ham, Swiss cheese, and a buttery mustard topping, they are a crowd-pleaser that stays together until lunchtime.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (12 count) Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 1/2 pound (225g) deli ham, thinly sliced
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1/4 cup (60g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Lightly spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. Keeping the rolls connected in their sheet, use a serrated knife to slice them in half horizontally.
  4. Place the bottom half of the rolls in the prepared baking dish.
  5. Layer the thinly sliced ham evenly over the bottom half of the rolls.
  6. Place the Swiss cheese slices over the ham.
  7. Carefully place the top half of the rolls back over the cheese and ham.
  8. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, poppy seeds, onion powder, and garlic powder. Whisk until well combined.
  9. Generously brush the butter mixture over the top of the rolls.
  10. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  11. Remove the foil and bake for another 5 to 7 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  12. Let the sliders rest in the dish for about 5 minutes before slicing.
  13. Use a sharp knife to cut between the rolls into 12 sliders. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Don’t overbake them; pull them out the moment they turn golden. Use room temperature butter for the mixture. Let the sliders rest after baking for 5 minutes. You can assemble them up to 24 hours in advance. For freezing, assemble completely but do not bake; wrap tightly and freeze for up to 3 months.
