A quick and easy sheet pan dinner featuring flaky honey mustard glazed salmon and crisp-tender roasted asparagus. Perfect for busy weeknights with minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz / 170 g each), skin-on or off based on preference
  • 3 tablespoons honey (raw or your favorite brand for natural sweetness)
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard (classic or whole grain works well)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (extra virgin for best flavor)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 bunch fresh asparagus (about 1 lb / 450 g), trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and allow it to fully heat for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Rinse and trim the woody ends off the asparagus. Lay them out on one side of a rimmed sheet pan in a single layer.
  3. Drizzle asparagus with 1 tablespoon olive oil and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Toss gently to coat and spread evenly.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, Dijon mustard, 1 tablespoon olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to make the glaze. Adjust sweetness if desired.
  5. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Place them skin-side down on the empty side of the sheet pan.
  6. Brush each salmon fillet generously with the honey mustard glaze.
  7. Roast in the oven for 12–15 minutes, depending on salmon thickness, until salmon flakes easily and asparagus is tender with slight char.
  8. Optional: Broil for 1–2 minutes for a caramelized top, watching closely to avoid burning.
  9. Remove from oven and let salmon rest for 2 minutes to allow juices to settle.
  10. Serve salmon with roasted asparagus, optionally squeezing extra fresh lemon juice over the top.

Notes

Pat salmon dry before glazing for a sticky, golden crust. Use fresh garlic for best flavor or garlic powder as a substitute. Avoid overcrowding the pan to keep asparagus crisp-tender. If asparagus cooks faster, remove early and keep warm with foil. Broil briefly for caramelized salmon top if desired. Leftovers keep well refrigerated for up to 2 days; reheat gently in oven at 300°F for 10 minutes.
