A quick and easy homemade frozen strawberry lemonade slushie that is refreshing and perfect for hot days, combining tart lemon juice with sweet frozen strawberries for a perfect icy treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups (300 grams) frozen strawberries
  • 2 large fresh lemons, juiced (about 1/2 cup or 120 ml lemon juice)
  • 1/4 cup (50 grams) granulated sugar
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cold water
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups (240360 ml) ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Roll each lemon firmly on the counter to loosen the juice, then cut in half and juice until you have about 1/2 cup (120 ml) of fresh lemon juice. Strain to remove seeds and pulp if you prefer a smoother slushie.
  2. Measure about 2 cups (300 grams) of frozen strawberries straight from the freezer. No need to thaw.
  3. Pour the frozen strawberries, fresh lemon juice, 1/4 cup (50 grams) granulated sugar, and 1 cup (240 ml) cold water into a blender. Add 1 cup (240 ml) of ice cubes to start; add more later if needed.
  4. Secure the lid and blend on high for about 1-2 minutes, or until the mixture is smooth and slushy. Stop and scrape down the sides with a spatula as needed.
  5. Adjust consistency by adding a splash more cold water if too thick, or a few more ice cubes if too thin, then blend again.
  6. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more sugar or lemon juice if desired, then blend briefly to mix.
  7. Serve immediately in chilled glasses. Garnish with a lemon wheel or fresh strawberry if desired.

Notes

Use frozen strawberries for best texture. Adjust sugar and lemon juice to taste. Pulse ice in stages to avoid overworking the blender. Chill glasses beforehand for extra refreshment. Leftovers can be stored in the freezer up to 24 hours; thaw slightly and stir before serving.
