A festive and easy-to-assemble charcuterie board featuring star-shaped cheddar cheese, fresh berries, cured meats, and crunchy crackers, perfect for summer celebrations like the Fourth of July.

Ingredients

  • Sharp white cheddar cheese, sliced and cut into star shapes (use a small star cookie cutter for best results)
  • Fresh mozzarella balls or mini bocconcini
  • Thinly sliced prosciutto or cured ham
  • Spicy salami slices
  • Fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • Blueberries
  • Seedless green grapes
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs
  • Assorted crackers or crostini
  • Marcona almonds or roasted pecans
  • Honey or fig jam (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slice white cheddar cheese into about 1/4-inch thick slabs. Use a star cookie cutter to cut out star shapes and set aside on parchment paper.
  2. Slice fresh mozzarella balls in half if large, or leave mini bocconcini whole.
  3. Lay out prosciutto and salami slices on a flat surface. Fold or roll loosely and arrange in small piles or fanned shapes.
  4. Rinse strawberries, blueberries, and grapes thoroughly. Hull and halve strawberries; leave blueberries and grapes whole. Pat dry gently.
  5. On a large wooden board or platter, place star-shaped cheddar cheese pieces as the centerpiece and distribute mozzarella balls around them.
  6. Add piles or rolls of prosciutto and salami in clusters spaced evenly.
  7. Fill gaps with clusters of strawberries, blueberries, and grapes. Scatter Marcona almonds or roasted pecans around for crunch.
  8. Tuck fresh rosemary sprigs between elements for aroma and color.
  9. Place small bowls of honey or fig jam near one corner of the board for dipping.
  10. Surround edges with an assortment of crackers or crostini.
  11. Fill any empty spaces with extra berries, nuts, or herbs to make the board look abundant and inviting.
  12. Keep the board chilled until serving; bring out about 15 minutes before guests arrive to allow cheese to soften slightly.

Notes

Prepare star cheese shapes a few hours ahead and keep refrigerated to hold shape. Bring cheese to room temperature 15 minutes before serving for best flavor. Keep crackers separate until serving to avoid sogginess. Toast nuts lightly for extra crunch and flavor. The star shape is optional; cheese can be cubed if needed. For vegan or gluten-free versions, substitute ingredients accordingly.
